As we approach the 5th anniversary of the worst day in American history, it is a shameful fact that millions of Americans actually believe that the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington and Pennsylvania were somehow "inside jobs" by the U.S. Government. By some accounts almost one-third of Americans feel this way. What is going on, people? The plethora of wack-job web sites (ranging from AttackOnAmerica.net to LetsRoll911.org) are replete with junk science "theories" that would make Oliver Stone proud. But, hold on, even Stone is on-board with this one! His best film to date, "World Trade Center", deals with the cold, hard facts of heroism and survival that took place that day. No mention of phantom "white fighter jets" and "pods" on military aircraft. The best reference site to de-bunk these moronic theories is from Popular Mechanics--in case you ever need ammunition at a cocktail party populated with these nuts.
It is indeed a sad commentary on the intellectual bankruptcy of the American public that so much time is wasted on this clap-trap instead of being focused on eradicating the real threat to our civilization that the real events of 9/11 so clearly showed.
